Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is a 2018 jukebox musical romantic comedy moving picture written and directed past Ol Parker, from a story by Parker, Catherine Johnson, and Richard Curtis. It is a follow-up to the 2008 film Mamma Mia!, which in turn is based on the musical of the same proper name using the music of ABBA. In a flashback to 1979, a young Donna Sheridan graduates from Oxford's New College with Rosie and Tanya ("When I Kissed the Instructor"), and dreams of a Greek island named Kalokairi. Donna's mother, Ruby, is a famous vocalist; but she has a strained relationship with her daughter and is consistently away on bout, and does not attend the graduation. Fed upward with her mother's abiding negligence and determined to spend her life making memories, Donna decided to travel to Kalokairi to discover her destiny.

In the present, five years after the events of the first movie, Sophie is in Kalokairi preparing for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna, in accolade of her recently deceased mother. Harry and Neb are unable to attend due to overseas business organisation ventures and Sophie too feels estranged from her married man, Sky, who'southward been offered a permanent job in New York ("One of Us").

It is then revealed that the hotel managing director, Señor Fernando Cienfuegos, is actually Cherry's long-lost lover from 1959, and the two are joyously reunited ("Fernando").

Nine months later, Sophie has given birth to a baby boy, named Donny. At the christening, Donna's spirit proudly watches over her girl as the two of them have one last moment before Donna fully passes on ("My Love, My Life"). Mamma Mia! Hither We Become Over again was announced on May 19, 2017, with a release date of July 20, 2018.[x] It was written and directed past Ol Parker.[11] On September 27, 2017, Benny Andersson confirmed iii ABBA songs that would be featured in the movie: "When I Kissed the Instructor," "I Wonder (Divergence)," and "Angeleyes."[12] "I Wonder (Departure)" was cut from the film, but is included on the soundtrack album.
